About the Role

A unique opportunity has arisen for a Security Operations Manager at our head office in Bradford where you will be tasked with providing specialised expertise across multiple Security Operations disciplines, processes and technologies, and provide day-to-day guidance and support to the work of the Security Analysts team.

Key duties will include being responsible for ensuring team members have a clear understanding of business needs and objectives, build the capability of the team by providing technical leadership, support and coaching, provide regular feedback to team members, effectively communicate with Head of Function to provide feedback on potential succession plans and team performance, manage day to day activity and delegate workload, establish and grow the value of key external security vendor/partner relationships, and build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

You will provide Security Operations Centre (SOC) specialist insight to develop our cyber security capability, identify and prioritise cyber security risks, plan the design and engineering of integrated security solutions to functionality within timescales, develop and maintain Security Operations documentation, and report to senior management on the progress of major security initiatives.

Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in a Security Operations role - leading risk identification and remediation activities within a Security Operations Centre environment, possess strong written and oral communication skills, excellent complex problem solving and security incident handling capabilities, ability to lead, coach and mentor team members, manage conflicting high priorities and schedule work effectively.

You will also have demonstrable experience in developing and improving security operations procedures, and be a subject matter expert across the following technologies:
  • Vulnerability Management
  • TCP/IP, LAN and WAN networking
  • Network Security (Firewalling, IPS)
  • DLP
  • Endpoint security
  • Web and Email security
  • Identity and Access Management
