About the Role

Role Purpose:

To take responsibility for managing the changes to the IT business services infrastructure to minimize risk and eliminating disruption to the business arising from change implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Change Management Process

Monitor and manage the change management requests from inception through to closure.
Agree, co-ordinate and ensure appropriate communication updates go out against agreed timescales.
Improving the change management process lifecycle in line with change best practice.
Manage the Change Management Process Working Group.
Promote best practice
Act as a point of contact for all change requests
Manage the Service Improvement Plan for Change

  • Escalation

Escalate to change requesters, assessors and approvers as and when needed, to ensure that the change process is not delayed. Act as a point of contact for all change requests

  • Reporting

Provide regular management information and produce and annotate reports. Identify, create and report on Trends, propose a criteria of reporting against

  • Change Advisory Board (CAB)

Provide the relevant information for facilitating CABs, chair scheduled/ad-hoc CABs or eCABs.
Produce the forward schedule of change

  • Service Catalogue and Service Continuity

Manage the Service catalogue
Deputise for the IT Service Continuity Manager
Manage Work Placement students and their workload

Skills and Experience

Experience and Capability

  • Understanding of Change management tools/ techniques.

  • Understanding of configuration management tools/ techniques.

  • Understanding of technical infrastructures.

  • Ability to communicate with personnel at all levels of the business.


  • Good understanding of Excel

  • Good understanding of Crystal Reports

  • ITIL Foundation

  • ITIL Intermediate qualifications
  • ITIL Expert
