We have a unique opportunity for an experienced IT Software Asset Governance Manager to join our Bradford Head Office. You will ensure that appropriate policies, procedures, tools, expertise, education and reporting is in place to identify and manage the risks and optimize the costs associated with software licences and their use.
About the Role
Key Accountabilities
  • Ensure that appropriate resources (people, tools, services) and processes are in place to gather and analyse data relating to software asset life cycles and related processes.
  • Ensure that effective policies and procedures are in place to effectively manage our software assets.
  • Report on breaches of SAM policy, and drive remedial action.
  • Assist the CIO and IT leaders in developing effective SAM strategies, policy, approaches and practices.
  • Ensure that SAM-related tools and services are properly evaluated, selected, implemented, configured and maintained, with appropriate integration with other sources of organizational data.
  • Manage responses to software supplier license compliance audits or license validation requests, in consultation with the relevant supplier and procurement managers, software asset manager and other appointed delegates.
  • This is a governance role where your experience and expertise will be needed to ensure that the teams with day to day operational responsibility for managing and deploying software have the appropriate processes, procedures, reporting and risk awareness to ensure 3rd party software licence compliance.
Skills and Experience
Ideal Candidate

Alongside the core values that Provident look for in all employees, we expect you to have had experience in a senior management role including engagement with procurement, business stakeholders and frontline operational IT staff.

You will have the ability to understand the commercial implications of non-compliance with software contracts as well as demonstrable experience of working with IT software asset management professionals to deliver SAM capability and improved business outcomes
You will have a detailed knowledge of how software vendors operate, how software audits work, the various ways in which software can be licenced and the associated compliance risks.

Experience in building cross-organizational consensus with exposure to software providers and using SAM discovery tools (in particular SNOW) is also a prerequisite of the role.
