About Us
We have an exciting opportunity for a Health & Safety Manager to join our Bradford head office. The role is designed to provide in-depth expertise in relation to Occupational Health & Safety across our Consumer Credit Division. Providing expert advice, guidance and direction to provide the best practicable protection for employees and contractors, as well as protecting the company from financial loss, prosecution or reputational damage.

    About the Role
    Role responsibilities will include:
    • Being the Subject Matter Expert for Health & Safety acting as a champion and competent person whilst being a role model to others
    • Review working activities and make recommendations to ensure safety risks and remedial actions are considered.
    • Complete Risk Assessments as required
    • Lead investigations into serious safety incidents and implement and follow up any recommendations
    • Identify root cause analysis of incidents / accidents and to make appropriate recommendations
    • Act as the key point of contact with relevant regulatory and law enforcement agencies
    • Manage and maintain the Health & Safety Portal
    • Provide input and sign off changes to processes, procedures and documentation
    • Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters
    Skills and Experience
    Alongside the core values that Provident look for in all employees, we expect you to have the following skills and experience:
    • NEBOSH General Certificate
    • IOSH Managing Safely Qualification
    • Previous experience in a management role in occupational health and safety
    • Excellent up to date knowledge of all Health & Safety Legislation.
    • Experience in designing, implementing and managing safety management systems
    • Extensive experience of assessing and conducting Risk Assessments - including Lone Working assessments.
    • Experience in providing Health & Safety advice/guidance to managers and colleagues
    • IT skills and familiarity with Windows/IOS/Android operating systems
    • Flexible to drive / travel within a designated area as determined by the Company if needed on an ad-hoc basis
