About the Role
About the Role

In this role you will provide leadership to a technical team within the IT Platform Design function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, engage and motivate the team to deliver business outcomes which make optimal use of on-premise IT infrastructure and/or cloud based infrastructure (as appropriate).
  • Promote delivery of a Cloud-First Strategy for new initiatives through an understanding of the technology and business benefits this delivers.
  • Contribute to the design, development and delivery of a framework for agile engineering and DevOps, focusing on building a capable and competent team who will establish close working practices with other Functions across CCD and Group.
  • Build capability of team by supporting and coaching through effective performance management practices.
  • Effective resource demand management, underpinned by effective planning and tracking based on the adoption of agile principals and tools.
  • Ensure frequent knowledge transfer takes place within the team.
  • Reviewing progress of colleagues against the team training road maps.
  • Reviews of designs and implementations plans.
  • Conduct a QA role on activities performed by the team identifying systematic issues and implementing changes to improve work quality and/or efficiency, including identifying organisational development needs as well as the necessary system enhancements.
  • Regular reviews of the processes and controls in relation to the Managing Non Production Technology Environments Risk Register.
Skills and Experience
About You

We would like you to have skills and experience in some of the following:
  • In depth understanding of on-prem and cloud infrastructure technologies and their hosting of 3rd party and in-house services and applications.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate with people at all levels in an organisation.
  • Previous experience as a Team Leader/Manager who has worked within the IT function in a relatively large, commercial enterprise.
  • Demonstrated experience of leading change and design through to delivery.
  • Ability to influence and challenge constructively, particularly at Head of Function level.
  • Ability to lead, coach and mentor a team.
Desirable
  • Understand the requirements of an FCA regulated business.
  • Strong technical lead background in Networking/Voice/Unified Communications in a large commercial enterprise.
  • Experience with TFS/VSTS/Azure DevOps, Microsoft Teams.
  • Broad knowledge of telephony systems and their integration into the infrastructure of a customer facing Enterprise.
  • Experience of an Agile transformation.
  • Technical knowledge of MDM/EMM e.g. MobileIron/InTune.
Desirable Qualifications
  • ITIL experience
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Qualifications from the Chartered Management Institute
