About the Role
About the Role

In this role you will carry out the Data Protection Practitioner's role for the regulated businesses within the Consumer Credit Division (CCD) and Provident Financial PLC (PF). You will support the Data Protection Officer in ensuring that CCD and PF meet their obligations under Data Protection law and related regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Data Protection Officer in discharging the functions of the PF & CCD Data Protection Office.
  • Provide timely and accurate data privacy advice and guidance to the business functions.
  • Provide Data Protection approvals on Privacy Impact Assessments and Data Protection notices.
  • Provide Data Protection consultancy to Projects.
  • Seek to continually improve Data Protection training material, policies and processes.
  • Support the Group Data Protection Officer (GDPO) in managing and continually improving the Data Protection control framework for the business.
  • Support the GDPO in managing external relationships with the data protection regulators.
  • Support the business functions in ensuring Data Protection policy and processes reflect current practices and are adhered to.
  • Provide operational and specialist insight to drive continuous improvement in data privacy matters.
  • Identify Data Protection risks and provide proposals for potential solutions, balancing risk with business needs.
Skills and Experience
About You

We would like you to have skills and experience in some of the following:
  • 2 years plus experience in working in a regulatory environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in delivering comprehensive and user friendly Policies and Procedures
  • Ability to understand and interpret legal documentation
  • Multi-tasking and working to tight timescales
Desirable
  • Experience of dealing with information governance issues in a commercial environment.
  • A wider knowledge of global data privacy laws.
  • Experience working in a regulatory environment

Desirable Qualifications
  • Relevant qualifications such as BCS (ISEB) Certification in Data Protection, CIPP EU Qualification in Data Privacy, or relevant Information Management or Legal Qualifications.
