About the Role

Location: Bradford, hybrid working 1-2 days per week office based.

We are looking for a Security Operations Analyst to support, develop and continually improve the organisation's Security infrastructure protection processes. To focus on maintaining operational stability in the face of new Security threats, rapid technological change and requests for changes, reconfigurations, and reporting requirements for compliance. To own and take responsibility for security incidents, changes and problems from inception to resolution, identifying and resolving issues and focusing on quality customer service throughout. To support the delivery of projects, infrastructure and operational improvements, and manage their own time effectively to tackle multiple activities simultaneously delivering consistent high-quality.


Key responsibilities & accountabilities

  • Manage/mitigate security risk and cyber security risks to the business.
  • Anomaly detection and fraud prevention by means of log monitoring and other technical security controls
  • Provide expert technical security guidance to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Attend the change advisory board to represent Security Operations and ensure the cyber security implications of any changes are fully understood and taken into account in all decision making.
  • Manage escalated work request queues according to business need and based on technical risk.
  • Configuration and monitoring of security technologies including Anti-Virus, Email and Web filtering, Security Incident Event Monitoring system (SIEM).
  • Implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of the technology risk framework.
  • Review of policies and creation of processes to support the wider corporate Cyber Security strategy.
  • Management and coordination of Vulnerability and Penetration testing including any remediation activities.
  • Support and implement the security strategy and plan.
  • Produce monthly statistics including KPI's and KRI's to support informed decision making at SMT.
  • Assist in the maintenance and compliance of required standards (ISO27001, PCI DSS, FCA, etc.).
  • Support new solutions, processes and technologies to mitigate emerging risk.
  • Maintain personal development and knowledge including keeping abreast of new threats and vulnerabilities.

Skills and Experience

Experience

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Cloud technologies; Azure
  • Knowledge of Splunk and/or Azure Sentinel
  • Expert knowledge of security technologies including Anti-Virus, Event Management and Correlation, web filtering, email filtering,
  • Understanding of a large-scale technical infrastructure and associated best practice
  • Understanding of Security MI and reporting requirements
  • Documentation / process writing skills
  • Experience of incident, problem, change and release processes.
  • Prioritise effectively, scheduling work, determine tasks and resources
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to plan for short- to medium-term objectives.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal).
  • Must have an analytical, trouble-shooting mindset, with a problem-solving personality.
  • Keen to acquire knowledge and take responsibility

Desirable

  • Experience of working within and FCA regulated company.

Education

  • In-depth understanding of Microsoft Operating Systems and core technologies
  • Working knowledge of all core infrastructure technologies
  • ITIL Foundation or greater
  • One of the following: CISM ,CISSP, CISA, Security+ CSSP, SSCP
