About the Role

At Provident, we are currently in the process of transforming our delivery capabilities to Dev/Ops and are transitioning from traditional data warehousing methodologies to real-time, Cloud technology data exploitation. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a team to deliver real value to the Business through data driven solutions.

In this role you will manage the provision of Business Intelligence within CCD, providing the business with data to allow it to meet financial, regulatory and performance reporting requirements, along with managing and leading the development of the Business Intelligence team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the delivery of BI solutions in line with agreed targets, ensuring stakeholders are managed.
  • Represent the BI team across the business, engaging with project teams and stakeholders to ensure their BI requirements are understood, managed and delivered.
  • Promote and manage agreed departmental ITIL processes to implement and achieve efficient and effective Incident, Service, Request, Change, Problem and Release Management.
  • Engage with and manage service transition activities for new products as well as service enhancements.
  • Establish and maintain key relationships with stakeholders within Provident (IT, Head Office and Field).
  • Ensure current team practices reflect business policy and are adhered to.
  • Identify and manage relevant risks and issues affecting the BI team.
  • Ensure that the team works to appropriate development / testing and documentation standards and are working within Data Protection and Data Governance Guidelines.
  • Ensure the data measures within the BI solutions are documented within a measures catalogue.
Skills and Experience
About You

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Previous experience as a Database Manager who has worked within a large structured IT function or similar ITIL aligned and regulated environments.
  • Ability to lead, coach and mentor a team.
  • Rigorous attention to detail.
  • Strong technical background in Microsoft SQL server and associated technologies
  • Previous line responsibility for DBA teams.
  • Experience of Audit / Risk Mitigation.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate with people at all levels in an organisation.
  • Ability to influence and challenge constructively, particularly at Head of Function level.
  • Understand the requirements of an FCA regulated business.
  • Project Management and large change delivery experience.
  • Vision and strategy formulation.

  • Related Degree or equivalent
  • ITIL Practitioner
