About the Role
At Provident a fantastic opportunity has arisen as a payments officer based in our Bradford HO on a 6 months fixed term basis - You will be responsible for operating as part of the Payments Team by allocating payments and reconciling accounts, uploading payment and account data and performing general administration tasks to support the other areas of FCA regulated Provident Central Collections Department under the guidance of the Payments Manager.

Key responsibilities in this role;
  • Allocation of Payments to customer's accounts in line with FCA guidelines and DEMSA regulations
  • Control and reconcile payment files from 3rd parties in line with agreed SLAs
  • Payment of invoices and remittances in line with Company policy and SLAs
  • Process cheque refunds on Overpaid accounts and in relation to Early Settlement Rebates
  • Process financial adjustments as requested by other business areas on accounts
  • Daily, weekly and monthly reconciliation of Collections and Banking
  • Extract data/load files into the PCC system in accordance with defined processes
  • Assisting in the maintenance and distribution of departmental MI
  • Manage Internal Letter Printing and Tracking of External Letters
  • Processing general queries
  • General administrative tasks to support additional areas of Provident Central Collections
  • Ability to recognise and identify subject access and agreement requests to escalate to appropriate teams
  • Executes policy and procedure under the guidance of the Payments Manager
  • Prioritise and deliver assigned personal workload, escalating activities and issues appropriately
